Class Guidelines

ZOOM is the platform that we connect to for these classes which is very easy to use and is free for participants. If this is your first time participating in these classes using ZOOM, please make sure you successfully download. By clicking on the meeting link your computer should automatically download the application software for you so just follow the prompts. It should only take a few minutes to do this and then once downloaded it will stay on your computer. The ZOOM meeting link for the live classes is posted in the Course Login page.

Each session you will need the ZOOM meeting number. We will use the one meeting number all of the sessions. The ZOOM room will open 10 minutes before the class start time. Please plan to login 5-10mins before each class start time so as to prepare and allow space for any technical issues that may come up.

You do not need to have the camera on, however if you are wanting me to check anything regarding technique/posture etc then please have your camera on.  If using the camera you will need to setup your computer angle so that it can show your whole body sitting in a chair or on a yoga mat. A side ways angle is usually the best. Please make sure you are not too far away and that there is adequate lighting.

I recommend that if your schedule allows for you to attend the live sessions, then you commit to this. However if you are unable, the sessions will be recorded and available up to 7 days after each live session. The recordings will be posted after the live class and can be found on the Course Login page.

NOTE: Only the presenter will be recorded - no participants will be included on the recording unless permission has been given by the participant.

Please make sure you disable or turn off all possible distractions such as alarms, mobile phones, home phones, people etc. Please do communicate to family members to not disturb you during this time and prepare your time/space to support your session. This level of care and considered preparation will contribute to the power of your session and impact on the ability for you to de-stress and settle your body.

Being able to offer these classes to you online makes them very accessible, especially with the availability to repeat via the recordings. Committing to your online sessions is important - consider it part of your personalised wellbeing program. Just like you would service your car, your body needs regular tuning up. To help with this commitment to you and your wellbeing, I suggest that you put the classes into your diary/calendar as an appointment. It's your personal time to nourish and recharge your body and being.

I am based in Melbourne and so the course dates and times are scheduled in Australian Eastern Standard Time-zone (AEST).  If you are travelling overseas and you wish to attend the live sessions please check your own time-zone by using the time converter

By participating in these online sessions you do so at your own risk & discretion, taking responsibility for what you choose to experience, modifying as needed, and most importantly listening to the wisdom of your body, respecting its limitations on any given day.

Yoga, Meditation & Wellbeing Self-care recommendations are not a substitute for medical care, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Participants should consult a medical practitioner or other health care professional if you have any questions or concerns regarding medical matters.

If you have any questions regarding the classes, techniques and suitability please read the class guidelines or use the Q&A page or if it is a private question please email Marika directly:

'The deeper connection and awareness with myself

has been very powerful, profound and enjoyable.'

Courtney, Melbourne

I have just completed Marika’s 6week yoga course and I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that was presented in each session and the unfolding awareness that came thereafter. I find The Yoga of Stillness classes provide the space for me to connect to my body and be able to let go of tension and unwind.  I feel the difference in my body after every class especially how rejuvenating and restored I feel.

Marika has a wonderful understanding of Yoga – she presents from her solidness, her presence and the wisdom that she lives. Each class inspires me to bring focus to certain areas in my life. Her guidance and support throughout the 6week course was really beautiful and I highly recommend her course to anyone who wants to re-connect to themselves on a deeper level.

Complementary Therapies

Marika is a master of bodies; a reflection of the ease, light and strength with which she carries her own body.  Marika’s touch is both gentle and firm; a perfect combination for massage which my body was very appreciative to receive.

My body felt deeply held and supported and safe to surrender to the power of its own healing throughout the session.  And it was delivered with the utmost professionalism, integrity, respect and care for me as the client and for my wellbeing.

Project Management

In my position as Creative Director, over the last eight years, I have been asked to write many references for students and staff. It is not often I have the opportunity of going over the top. The attitude and efficiency Marika brought to the demanding tasks and challenges she faced were exemplary.

Each project and programme she was involved in, once completed had her mark on it. By example she taught the senior staff in this organisation as much as we taught her.

She is an extraordinary young woman, loyal, dedicated, hard working, creative, gregarious, efficient, mature, and a delight to work with. I truly believe she is capable of anything she sets her mind to.
