A snapshot of Marika's health and well-being background…

At age 13 Marika began her physical pursuits with the soon to be infamous, ‘Flying Fruit Fly Circus’. At age 15 she was appointed as a senior acrobatic teacher learning alongside some of the best acrobatic teachers from China, which was to be the beginning of a 20year acrobatic performing career. Her love of music and rhythm, interest in human potential and the functioning of the human body inspired her to also pursue a career in the fitness industry alongside her performing career. For over ten years Marika worked in high profile health clubs in Australia as a personal trainer and group fitness leader.

In 1997 Marika began a more inner journey and started practicing Yoga & Meditation. With her natural flair to teach, Marika was soon invited to travel the globe presenting workshops & yoga retreats. She now specialises her yoga expertise to present a very gentle but powerful style of yoga known as ‘The Yoga of Stillness’, presenting regular online courses to support body awareness to a global clientele.

Since 2007 Marika has operated a private clinic offering Massage, Complementary Therapies, Lifestyle Coaching, Yoga, Meditation and Counselling. She is inspired by the profound support, connection and harmony that these complementary to medicine modalities bring to people’s bodies and lives, including her own. It has been an enormous support for her own personal development alongside her corporate career.

In 2017 Marika was approached to work for Evolve College (the largest and most respected Massage school in Australia) as a Massage Trainer and Assessor for the Diploma of Remedial Massage. And more recently she began as a Trainer & Assessor for the Diploma of Counselling. Training is something that has been a lifelong passion for Marika, and presenting so natural and a joy. Turning complexity into simplicity and having fun doing it has always been easy for Marika. She is a natural in the classroom or on a stage and absolutely loves supporting the growth of others.

Yoga

I have just completed Marika’s 6week yoga course and I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that was presented in each session and the unfolding awareness that came thereafter. I find The Yoga of Stillness classes provide the space for me to connect to my body and be able to let go of tension and unwind.  I feel the difference in my body after every class especially how rejuvenating and restored I feel.

Marika has a wonderful understanding of Yoga – she presents from her solidness, her presence and the wisdom that she lives. Each class inspires me to bring focus to certain areas in my life. Her guidance and support throughout the 6week course was really beautiful and I highly recommend her course to anyone who wants to re-connect to themselves on a deeper level.

Testimonials

Complementary Therapies

Marika is a master of bodies; a reflection of the ease, light and strength with which she carries her own body.  Marika’s touch is both gentle and firm; a perfect combination for massage which my body was very appreciative to receive.

My body felt deeply held and supported and safe to surrender to the power of its own healing throughout the session.  And it was delivered with the utmost professionalism, integrity, respect and care for me as the client and for my wellbeing.

Stevie, Project Coordinator

Project Management

In my position as Creative Director, over the last eight years, I have been asked to write many references for students and staff. It is not often I have the opportunity of going over the top. The attitude and efficiency Marika brought to the demanding tasks and challenges she faced were exemplary.

Each project and programme she was involved in, once completed had her mark on it. By example she taught the senior staff in this organisation as much as we taught her.

She is an extraordinary young woman, loyal, dedicated, hard working, creative, gregarious, efficient, mature, and a delight to work with. I truly believe she is capable of anything she sets her mind to.
